We may have given away a soft free, then a soft corner at the off, and Diaby didn’t even challenge Terry in the box, but what happened to the man on the post? With Clichy on the post that ball is cleared.
The 2nd goal is broken down pretty easily, it should have been an Arsenal freekick. Sammy Nasri had the ball on the edge of the chavs box, and he was pulled down, but he refused to go to ground, kept going but after 2 seconds lost the ball. Considering how many advantages were awarded to the chavs I thought the ref was going to award the free, but he allowed the chavs to go up and score. That said, clichy didn’t put it a good tackle, and Vermealan should’ve dived in front of the shot.
But it was a different Arsenal to the one beaten by man u last week, they fought back this time and deserved at least a draw, but with nobody willing to shoot, nobody was going to score.
Its a must-win game against liverpool on Wednesday if Arsenal want to keep the pace up, but considering the run from November to January, maybe its not a must-win.
I watched the game in Manchester with some other bloggers and we were all suprised that you didn’t take something from the game – at least based on the second half possession
Our general consensus was that it seemed you were lacking an out and out striker – maybe you think differently, but that’s how it seemed

A goalscorer is needed, and also a goalkeeper, we had all that possesion, but never looked like making a goal from it.

Yeh, particularly in the second half
It’s the sort of Drogba character that you need – to lead the line, to poach goals and also to make the most of only the smallest opportunity.
Because you get plenty of those – it’s just (rather like West Ham) actually being able to convert them
